Core Sovereignty & Local Execution Guarantee

Extra runs 100% locally on your machine. Your desktop screenshots, clipboard data, keystrokes, application states, and AI prompts are never transmitted to our servers or stored in any cloud environment.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Euryale Ferox Private Limited collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website (extra.yantraos.com) or use the open-source Extra software runtime and installer.

We believe in data minimization and local sovereign computing. We only collect the minimal technical telemetry necessary to verify software installations and understand site traffic.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

To eliminate any ambiguity regarding desktop automation and AI computer use:

  • No Screen Capture Transmission: Screenshots captured via DXGI or Windows Graphics Capture remain strictly in your host memory and are passed only to your locally configured AI agent over local stdio JSON-RPC.
  • No Keystroke or Input Logging: Extra does not record, log, or transmit the keys you type, forms you fill, or mouse movements.
  • No File or Folder Inspection: Extra does not scan, upload, or transmit personal files from your hard drive to our servers.
  • No AI Conversation Prompts: Your prompts and LLM completions stay between your machine and your chosen LLM provider (such as Anthropic Claude or OpenAI).

3. Information We Collect

A. Website Analytics (extra.yantraos.com)

When you browse our website, we collect anonymous aggregate usage statistics using Vercel Web Analytics. This includes:

  • Referring URL and pages visited
  • Approximate geographical country and city (resolved via Edge IP headers without storing raw IP addresses)
  • Browser type, operating system version, and device type
  • Button conversion events (e.g., clicking “Copy Command”)

B. Anonymous Install Telemetry (CLI Installer)

When you execute the one-line installation script (install.ps1), a single anonymous completion ping is sent to our API upon successful installation. This payload contains:

  • Event type: install_completed
  • Operating System build (e.g., Windows 11 x64)
  • Python version installed (e.g., 3.12)
  • Whether Claude Desktop MCP integration was enabled
  • UTC Timestamp
  • Country/City derived at edge server level

4. How to Opt Out of Install Telemetry

We respect your right to zero telemetry. You can completely opt out of the installer telemetry ping using either of these methods:

# Option 1: Pass the -NoTelemetry flag

irm https://extra.yantraos.com/install.ps1 | iex -NoTelemetry

# Option 2: Set an environment variable

$env:EXTRA_NO_TELEMETRY = "1"

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses essential first-party cookies and localStorage strictly for functional purposes:

  • extra_cookie_consent: Stores your cookie preference (accepted/declined).

We do not use third-party cross-site advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or ad networks.

6. Open Source Software Licensing

The core Extra runtime and CLI are distributed under the permissive MIT License. The entire source code is auditable on GitHub at github.com/OSYantra/extra.yantraOS.com. You are free to inspect, audit, fork, and verify every system call and network request.

7. Security & Data Retention

Install telemetry records are stored in secure cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We retain aggregate statistics for internal product metrics and capacity planning.
